About people who immigrated to the United States: "they landed at Ellis Island, greeted by The Statue of liberty. The island was the port of entry for 12 million new arrivals to the U.S. They looked different from us. They had different customs. They ate different foods. They came from far away countries with different beliefs. Some of them spoke different languages that we didn't understand. Many of them were fleeing dangerous situations in their homeland. All of them were looking for a better life. A safer life. Would you have let them in? These are the people who built America. 40% of all citizens can trace at least one ancestor to Ellis Island. Are you one of them? Would you be welcome today?"
